Sometimes you tell stories, not for the listener but for yourself. It won’t make you a master storyteller, might not get you any applause either. What it will give you instead is a sense of satisfaction — Joy.

As a writer, It is rewarding when I pen down some of the best lines for an unknown reader or perhaps for my future-self. But it is those impulsive words, half-baked sentences, and unstructured articles that give me that joy, that matchless pleasure.

I experienced this similar pleasure while watching the movie, “Sir”. I can keep going about this film ceaselessly. It holds the calmness of storytelling, the steady pace of world cinema, the texture of old school romance, the aesthetics of South Bombay, untold commentary on cultures, unresolved queries around society’s barrier, and of course a beautiful question that I also asked myself after watching parasite last year.

The movie might not have the layers of an oscar-winning film, but it has an exciting Indianess in it which makes it more authentic and palatable for me. Sir is the kind of movie that you do not merely watch; you live it. For me, I fell in love with it even before watching it. The brilliant trailer is to be blamed.

The movie, like any other piece of Art, will have several meanings. Everyone will look through different lenses and every perspective will hold a strong notion.

What makes this movie an absolute delight to me is that it respects the viewers and considers them to be intelligent by giving a lot of thought-provoking ideas to ponder upon and understand.

Well done :)
