What is that one beautiful thing you have seen or done recently?

Maybe it was a road trip, maybe a good strong cup of tea or a hug from the girl you love the most.

For me, it is this movie: Karwaan.

I may not have gone to watch it if I wasn’t tagged in a review for the film. I would not have watched the film if the star cast did not have Irfan Khan or Mithila in the film or I would not have watched the film if the trailer was not impactful enough.

I like watching all kind of movies. I enjoy good films. I have watched and reminisced about great films, but only films that are simple yet beautiful, I recommend those to my Mom. She is a bit choosy with films. She loves the cinema only when served elegantly, just like as she serves ajwain wala paratha with Amrut Ghee.

This movie is everything one can expect from a “getting better each day” kind of new cinema perspective. It has a great story, perfect cinematography, powerful theme, amazing punchlines, elegant actors and emotional ending.

The first half of the film is just like Sehwag’s batting. It has superb punchlines all over it. You enjoy the comic timing of Irfan Khan and when it’s time for an intermission, you say it out loud, Irfan Khan is awesome. The second half comes, it starts little slow, there is a shift in tone, the movie goes on like the middle order of the great Indian line up. You see other characters coming on the ground and delivering in style. You enjoy cameos and now want to keep moving towards the end with your favorite set batsman.

There are punches, there are emotional scenes and there are places where the Director wanted to cut a scene or two but was unable to make that tough choice, and made a scene or two little lengthy. But hey! Overall it is just a perfect film.

Watching it will be a wise choice. Learning a few things here and there and promising yourself that you will do what you want to do from today will make you the perfect Wise Idiot. It is good to see such films of quality being produced every now and then, it has the uniqueness similar to Udhaan, a freshness of tripling and powerful performances like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.

Do watch and plan a trip to South India soon.
